Hummingbird
My breath rises with your flight,
and falls as you land back into softness.
Your feathers, filled with stardust—
shiny crystals of pure light,
imprints of wild truths.
You echo the vastness of beginning,
and the homecoming of the end.
From distant horizons
to nearby hearts,
you bring benedictions—
of lives lived
before the beginning of our time.
I fall to my knees
to receive the invocation,
with reverence in my eyes
and a tear in my hand.
I, too, am blessed.
